About SwedeAmp (in English)
SwedeAmp – the Amputation and Prosthetics Registry for the lower Extremity – is a Swedish National Quality Registry.
The main purpose of SwedeAmp is to improve the quality of care for individuals undergoing a lower limb amputation in Sweden. The registry captures clinically based data related to the patient, the surgical procedure, the prosthetic supply, and the patient’s situation before and after amputation.
SwedeAmp aims to
- provide a coherent view of the amputation panorama and its consequences
- demonstrate differences in the care of patients undergoing a lower limb amputation
- provide data for cost analyses
- provide guidance in the planning of treatment for individual patients at risk for an amputation
- provide data for the evaluation of the prosthetic fitting and rehabilitation
- provide data for feedback and improvements throughout the continuum of care.
SwedeAmp has been a National Quality Registry since 2011 and is funded by the Swedish government. SwedeAmp is connected to the competence center RC Syd (Quality Registry Center South).
